Motorcycle Driving Course A1

Theory
The course provides the theoretical preparation for the test. You can study on your own using online classes as well as theoretical material. Once you have enrolled in our system, you will receive instructions on how you can take part in these classes online in the virtual classroom (in Finnish). You can then select the most suitable schedule to meet your needs.
In this phase your driving instructor will guide you to understand the basics of motorcycling. You will learn about the rules of the road and safety tips, as well as some of the more complex aspects of the vehicle. You will acquire the fundamental knowledge required for all license categories and also the specific requirements for the category you choose.

The test should be taken by a certified DVSA tester. If you do not pass your test at the first attempt, you'll be required to wait for at least two weeks before taking it again.
We ask that you pay any outstanding balance if you're still not passing your theory test prior to the date you begin your eas education. This is to prevent another student from being able to take the seat reserved for this course. If you do not pass the theory test on the date stated in your training schedule, we are unable to schedule an exam for you, and you will be required to pay for the resit costs at the time of booking.
Practical
Motorcycle driving courses also offer practical classes. These are the main parts of your education and can be spread over some days or for longer, based on your needs. This portion of the training will require you to own a motorcycle. You should pick a bike that you can handle easily, that is not too heavy or fast. A good place to start is with the 50cc motorbike or scooter.
The practical test is the next stage after you have completed your theory training. The test is divided into two sections: Module 1 and Module 2. The first, Module 1, is an hour-long road ride and the second one is a 10 minute independent riding section. You will need to pass both parts to get your license.
You should practice the basic motorcycle maneuvers, including the figure 8 slalom and emergency stop, to prepare for your motorcycle test in module two. These skills will allow you to know what the examiner will be looking for. It is also important to ensure that your bike is in good condition and that you have a full set of gear including gloves, helmet and a jacket. You should also wear comfortable shoes, and make sure to bring your driving license.
It is important to note that the pass certificate for a motorbike driving licence is valid for only two years. If you fail the test in that time, you'll need to take the theory test again.
If you're looking to move up to a different vehicle category you'll need to complete Module 5. This is the progress portion of the course. It allows you to change your license without having to go through the whole IBT program again. This course must be taken on the motorcycle that you plan to use, and approved by your instructor.
You'll need a motorbike which is road legal, with full-sized L plates front and back, as well as mirrors. You'll also have to ensure that the bike is appropriate for the test you're taking, and that you've got the right helmet and clothes for the conditions.
Assessment

Module 1 consists of off-road manoeuvres, such as controlled stops and slaloms around cones, while Module 2 will be conducted on the road and requires you to follow a pre-planned route with varying traffic conditions.
The Module 1 test takes 20 minutes, and focuses on your ability to perform off-road maneuvers, like slow speeds and an eight-figure figure. You'll be asked to do a U turn and an emergency stop.
After having passed the module 1 and 2 tests, you can ride a motorbike up to 35 kW. This is the first part of an entire A license, which allows you to drive manual or automated motorbikes or scooters.
It's important to keep in mind that your A1 license will only be valid for two years. After that, you'll need to upgrade to the A2 licence, which will give you more freedom on roads.
A1 courses include both practical and theory classes. The amount of instruction you receive will depend on your level of experience riding a bicycle. The number of classes varies from school to school. It is advisable to sign up for an A1 course as soon as you can, so that you can schedule your practical and theory tests at the same time. You will also need the required equipment, such a helmet and glove. If you don't have the necessary equipment, some driving schools will provide a loaner service.
Licensing
The Compulsory Base Training (CBT) is the initial step towards getting a motorcycle licence. After passing the CBT test, you are legally able to be able to ride a motorcycle up to 35 kW. This can be anything from a moped up to a small scooter.
CBT combines the theory and the practical. It helps you understand and apply the driving rules and regulations you must adhere to when driving. The course is broken down into three parts of 4 hours each. It lasts 12 hour. Before you can take your driving test for category A1, you have to complete all three modules. You must be 18 years old in order to pass the course.
You must get at least 25 points to pass the theory test. To pass the test, you must answer all the questions correctly. There are no chances to retake the test. The test lasts approximately 45 minutes and can be taken at a TUV or Dekra office of your preference.
The practical course is for 12 hours, and is broken down into three parts of 4 hours each. You must be at least 18 years old to complete the practical course and be able to operate any motorbike, ranging from a 50cc motorbike to the largest motorcycle that has the maximum power of 35 kW. You must also be competent to control and manage the vehicle in a variety of situations, such as taking over turning left or right, or changing lanes.
After you've completed your theory and practice lessons, you will be ready to take the driving test to get your category A1 license. This test consists of a series of riding maneuvers on a motorcycle provided by the instructor. You will also need to show that you are able to control the bike in various circumstances and under all weather conditions.
To pass the test you must have completed at a minimum five hours of training on Federal or Country Roads, and four additional hours in the daytime or dawn. You must also complete the prescribed number of special rides. The instructor will let you know when you are ready for the test and provide suggestions on how to pass it.
